In addition to this, we decided to give our users appealing templates they can use if they’re running a last minute contest idea on their Page. This means that no matter how big or small your team and resources are, you won’t have to sacrifice the end-result.

Choose the app you would like to publish on your Page and prepare it for editing.

Edit

In this phase you upload your own contest icon or choose the one we have in our library.

We have made leaps in the branding part of the apps. Completely personalized backgrounds, images, patterns and colors. Each font, button and order of the components can be rearranged to look completely unique.

If you’re running a last minute contest idea on your Page, choose one of the templates designed by our team.

After uploading images, choosing settings and personalizing all the visual elements you’re ready to preview how the contest will look like on your Page. You can check how it will look like to fans and non-fans. After preview, you can change everything you don’t like. If you decide to edit all images and texts, you can do that anytime in the Admin interface. All changes are instantly saved and visible to your fans the second they’ve been made.

Publish

Publish the app to a Page using the url from the Admin panel so your app is mobile-friendly and visible to users on the go. How to export data and how to use it

All the data is secured, in your ownership and will never be shared with third parties. Data users shared with you via our apps can be accessed anytime, no matter if your subscription is active or not.

If you used Facebook connect to sign up to Socialpuzzle, you’ll have immediate access to all of the Pages you manage as a manager. If you signed up using email, you will have to give permission in the user settings to get access to Pages.

Export data in the excel format from the Admin interface and use it for future promotions, sweepstakes and sales. email marketing is one of the most effective ways to turn potential customers into buyers and our app will help you get direct access to their inbox.

EDITING AND PUBLISHING

What is the best way to make Facebook fans?

If you want to increase the number of your FB fans you can use Giveaway, it's great for fans sharing your app and growing number of your Facebook community. Also, you can use Photo contest app because users will share their photos and in that way they will attract new potential clients.

What are the ideal dimensions for a background picture?

Is it possible to try out your application on the actual Facebook page?

You're free to test out our app on any real or test page with up to 100 fans for free. If your page has more fans, but you still want to try it out, keep in mind that out applications are available even for a period as short as one month. Also, preview part in Editing your applications gives you a real picture of how app will interact on the page.

Is it possible to see results and statistics even if application was unpublished and is no longer being paid for?

Yes, it is possible; our apps and statistics are being archived for unlimited time.

Is it possible to have more than one administrator for an app?

It's possible. If an app is added to a page (it doesn't even need to be published), every admin of that page can edit the app and see statistics. The only important thing is that everyone sign-in with their Facebook account that is an admin on the selected page.

How to ensure my app works on mobile devices too?

All Socialpuzzle apps except Runner Game can be used on mobile devices. Since Facebook does not have tabs in their mobile version, you need to use our smart link that will lead your fans to a redirected site where they can see and use your app on a mobile device. You should see your mobile link after you publish the campaign, but if you don't, this is a tip how to create it.

How do I delete an app I no longer need?

Applications can not be deleted, but it's possible to archive them. Reason for it not being possible to permanently delete an app is to make sure that all of the contests are always visible to all of the page administrators, and furthermore, so that results stay visible to a page owner.

PAYMENT

How can I pay for Socialpuzzle apps?

You can purchase apps directly online through our system. It is safe and fast. You can try apps for a month, or choose longer periods with discount included. Credit cards that are accepted on BlueSnap, our online payment system are: Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, JCB and Carte Bleue.

Is there an option to have white-label apps, which means without Socialpuzzle logo?

Yes, it is possible, and often used by agencies. The extra price for white-label is +20% on the price of the app.

DIFFICULTIES

After creating an application I logged out, and after returning the application was gone!

Usually that happens when a person logs in the first time with their personal or company email address and the second time with their Facebook account. The application is saved on the account it was made on, so please check out your other accounts.

My app does not work properly in mobile version, in Facebook app browser.

Facebook reported a bug where FB.connect does not work in their in-app browser. As they stated, it is a long-term bug and it might take some time before they fix this. The solution for you and your fans is to open apps in a browser, and not Facebook in-app browser. How? Click on three dots and “Open in Chrome” or some other browser you have on your mobile device.

I finished editing my app and want to Publish it, but when I come to “Add to page” part there is no page displayed, and I am an admin on that Facebook page.

First be sure you gave Manage pages permission. If you did, and first entered Socialpuzzle via email, maybe system did not recognize your pages yet, so the best option is to logout and login again, but be sure you are logging in with your Facebook account, not your email! Now you should be able to see your pages. If not, check if you gave AdBlock Plus.

I cannot see my pages and it seems like AdBlock Plus is causing my problems. How to fix it?

Please follow these steps and see it should work.

  1. Disable AdBlock Plus. You have to disable it everywhere, not just on Socialpuzzle page.
  2. Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications and remove Socialpuzzle 2.0.
  3. Log off from Facebook.
  4. In case you're logged in Socialpuzzle.com, log off from there too. If not, proceed to step 5.
  5. Go to http://www.socialpuzzle.com/ and Login.
  6. Popup will ask you for FB permissions, please allow them.
  7. Go to your campaign editor, to your app, and in the top right corner click on Add to page.
  8. On the next screen you'll be asked to allow additional permissions, specifically manage pages. Please allow them too.
You should now see all your pages in a drop down menu. Select the one you want and click Add to page. If you don't want it to be visible immediately, you can go back to Admin home http://www.socialpuzzle.com/admin/. You should now be good to go :)

I logged in and try to access my Statistics, but is says “error 501”!

You probably logged in with wrong account, that means you logged in with your email and you have a campaign that is connected to your Facebook account. Just logout and login again with your Facebook account.

MISCELLANEOUS

Is it possible to order a half customized Socialpuzzle app?

No, Socialpuzzle is a set of generic apps and the design and copy of all apps can be customized very easily, but the mechanism of apps cannot be changed. That is why our apps are affordable for everyone, and a creative concept of your app can really differentiate your app and page from competitors.

How to change my password if I am logged in with my email?

If you forgot or just want to change your password, click “Reset your password” on login button, write your email which you used for registration, and you will receive new password on your email. But the best option is to login with your Facebook account, not with your email, because we will have to connect your profile sooner or later to know which pages do you administrate.

APPS

PHOTO CONTEST

  1. What is the maximum photo size in Photo contest and do we get the original file someone has uploaded?

    The maximum size is 2 MB, it is compressed in .jpg format, and in export you can download the original size of the photo.

  2. How to be sure votes in Photo contest are legitimate and is there a possibility some users could cheat?

    When someone enters Socialpuzzle he/she has to give Permissions, so in that way we know more about users. In export and statistics part you can check IP addresses and user IDs, so you can disqualify potential frauds. If there are a lot of votes from the same IP address, that might be suspicious. To be even safer, we recommend that you make 2 rounds of your contest, and in second round your jury picks final winners.

  3. Is it possible to make a Photo contest where fans will not be able to upload photos, just vote?

    Yes, it is possible, in the Settings of your app put that users can upload unlimited number of photos, then admin uploads all the photos, and then again go to Settings and select that user can upload 0 photos.

  4. How many times can a user vote in the Photo contest?

    Once per day per photo.

RUNNER GAME

  1. Which are the possibilities of personalization in Runner Game app?

    Every part of design in the app can be customized - you can change the background of the app like in every other Socialpuzzle app, then you can customize the background of the game, floor, obstacle, and choose between 7 players we designed. When designing the background picture and floor picture be sure that the edges of the photo are the same on the right and on the left. Otherwise your photo won't look good.   2. Can I reward fans on a weekly basis?

    If you are rewarding your fans on a weekly basis, it is the best to start your contest on Monday and that the 1st round lasts until next Monday. If you start your contest on, for example, Wednesday, the 1st round will only be from Wednesday to Monday.

GIVEAWAY

  1. Is it better to make timeline contests or use app like Giveaway?

    You can always make some short term contests with daily prizes on timeline, if you want to increase engagement. Be sure that the prizes are not high value. If you have some promotional products like towels, shopping bags etc., use that for timeline contest prizes. But if you are making a bigger competition, where you invest also some budget for ads, have better prizes - be sure to have a mechanism where you could find suspicious users in terms of fake profiles etc. App will help you with that, and also will give you an opportunity to collect valuable emails for your email marketing campaign.

QUIZ

  1. Is it possible to remove results from the end of a Quiz?

    This option is not possible, if you want to run that kind of competition we recommend Form Builder app that can also be customized in a form of a Quiz, but the final results are only seen by administrators.

  2. How do you calculate the number of points in a Quiz app?

    The formula goes like this: (number of correct answers*1000) / (total time spent in the app)

VOTER

  1. How does the system of voting work in Voter app?

    Every user can vote once a day for every item in Voter application.

    No, only one level of Voter is available, but you can make more Voter apps for every type of product you want.

    Items can be added on the right side, on the “+” sign (Add component), click on “Webshop”, and there you can add a photo, description, price, link (if you want) etc.

TOP FAN

  1. What is the mechanics of Top Fan app?

    The data we are using for calculating points is based on fan activities such as: likes on the page, comments on the posts, wall posting on the page and speed of reaction on some activity. Ranking goes like this: the user with most activities and points has maximum of 100% monthly activities. Every activity has a certain number of points, that means likes bring 1 point, comment 2 points and wall-posting 3 points. Daily Top Fan also has a component of Top liker. Since technically a “like” does not have a date, when you publish a Top Fan app we collect likes from 1st day of previous month. And after the app is published, we collect likes as they arrive, in real time. Regarding Top Fan of the day and Top Fan of the Week, some clients used to get confused, but that are two separate categories. Top Fan of the day (shown in the app) is the most active fan from yesterday, and Top fan of the week is from the last week (so do not be confused if someone is Top fan of the day, but is not included in the Top fan of the week list. Also, if you are rewarding Top Fans of the week, the best would be to pick winners every Monday, since we measure from Monday to Sunday.

  1. How does the Instatab app work?

    It connects your Instagram profile to a Facebook tab application, or it connects hashtag to a Facebook tab application. As you want.
